About

My exposure to comics was rather sparse growing up. Aside from a few encounters here and there on a local grocery store spinner rack or newsstand they weren’t an influential part of my childhood. That changed when I met my good friend and fellow writer, KJ Mendenhall. He helped open a door that I now have no idea how I lived without. For me is all started with The Ultimates, Planet Hulk and Death Comes to Dillinger.

After I jumped head first into reading comics another friend and fellow writer, Jordan Lowe, gave me some tickets to Baltimore Comic Con and from there I was off. I started creating my own comics within days of the con. A few months later, I founded Broken Icon Comics, LLC and began to grow an entire business.

Over the last twelve years, I have become, dare I say, somewhat of a veteran independent creator with a plethora of titles to my credit.

My first full length graphic novel, Chosen and Forsaken was released in 2012. I’ve also written and published a series of shorts including Night of the Living Tricon (2013), Grocery Assassins (2013), Smiley Jack (2016) and Thomas Coe VDay (2017). I released my first children’s book, How Do You Roar (Ezequiel Pineda) as well as my second graphic novel, The Cowboy Gauntlet (Patrick Mulholland) in 2015. The Man in the Kitty Coat (Kevin Steward) debuted in 2016 with G-Raver (Nick Wentland, Landon Franklin) and Pete (Clint Richie) releasing in 2017. My largest graphic novel to date, Two Gun Thomas Coe (Tristan Kelly, Nick Wentland) debuted at Tricon in 2019 along with the zombie comedy Frank (Todd Beistel). In 2020 I teamed up with former WWE Superstar Al Snow to create a new series that dives deep into his character’s psyche, The Ballad of Al Snow and Head. It was followed up in 2021 with The Adventures of Al Snow and Head, another series with Al and some friends in more zany adventures. Currently I’m working on five titles that will see the light of day in 2023, Wickhaven Horror, Ice Harbinger, Monster Syndicate, Operation Khaos and the War Chest
